Dr. Devotha Godfrey Nyambo (PhD) ICT-RC Center Leader	I am pleased to welcome you to the Information and Communication Technology – Resource Center (ICT-RC) website. The ICT-RC hoasts a high quality and innovative PARAM KILIMANJARO High-Performance Computation(HPC) facility at the Tengeru Campus. The HPC with the maximum speed of 14 Tera Flops can perform quadrillion calculations per second. The HPC functions cut across all areas of science, engineering and business activities including Scientific Modelling and Simulation, Big Data Analytics, Bioinformatics, Weather Forecasting, Stock Analysis, Image Processing, Business Intelligence and in many more fields where high performance computation with big data and high accuracy is required. It has been observed that it is through data, that groundbreaking scientific discoveries are made, game changing innovations are fueled and quality of life is improved for billions of people around the globe. HPC is the foundation for scientific, industrial and societal advancement and it is very essential for the digital economy and the digital transformation of society due to its quality accuracy in computing, network and storage. Technologies like Data Science, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and 3-D imaging evolve the size and amount of data industries and society have to work with is growing exponentially. So HPC is the main solution for the development. Our HPC Experts and other staff in the ICT-RC are committed to support researchers, data analysts and scientific scholars to work with the technology to solve large complex problems in far less time and at a lower cost than traditional computing. I look forward to working with our Scientists, Engineers, Business Analysts, scholars, and business partners from the, academia, society and industry with the aim of solving complex problems facing the society and industry.
